This contract establishes an agreement wherein Jackson Hole Outfitters (JHO) agrees to provide certain services and
the Hunter agrees to the terms and conditions of the contract. We trust
this will avoid any possible misunderstandings. In this agreement, JHO
or we means outfitter Maury Jones, his guides, and crew.
OBLIGATIONS OF JHO
1. JHO cannot guarantee the killing of any game animal.
2. JHO guides will work diligently to produce game for the hunter and
will be aware of and cater to the hunter's personal desires and needs.
We will hunt in areas where we have taken trophy game animals in the past,
or in areas that have been pre-scouted.
3. JHO will book only two hunters for each guide. However, in case
of any emergency (a guide getting sick or injured, etc.) we reserve the
right to have more than two hunters per guide.
4. We will abide by the laws of the State of Wyoming and by accepted
outfitting laws and practices.
5. We will maintain a helpful, friendly, and hospitable atmosphere,
thus contributing to the enjoyment of the hunt.
6. We reserve the right to tell tall tales and expect our hunters to
believe us.
7. Most hunts will be fully guided and on horseback. For those who
have never ridden before, we have horses who have never been ridden so
you can start out on equal terms. For those who don't like to ride we have
horses that don't like to be ridden.
8. JHO will provide excellent meals, hot water showers, generated electricity,
horses and tack.
9. JHO reserves the right to refuse guide service to any hunter whom
we feel is not in proper physical condition for a rigorous hunt in the
high altitude of Wyoming.
10. We will accept hunters without regard of race, religious beliefs,
or political affiliation. (If you are a Liberal Democrat we may shed a
tear over you and try to reclaim you, but we will still take you hunting
and treat you as if you were a normal person. DITTOHEADS are especially
made welcome).
11. Hunts will be conducted on the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
12. JHO is an
equal opportunity provider.
OBLIGATIONS OF HUNTER
1. Abide by all the laws of the State of Wyoming.
2. Be fairly proficient in the use of his weapon.
3. Have a sense of humor. Pretend to believe the tall tales your guide
will undoubtedly tell you. (You should have been here last week! There was a 30
inch buck behind every tree!) 4. Provide his own hunting license, gun and ammunition (or bow and
arrows) gloves, long johns, rain gear, snow boots, warm socks, hat, medium
weight pants and shirts, warm coat, sleeping bag, pillow and any other
item of equipment he may need to prepare for a hunt. Conditions may be
anywhere from warm 70 degree days to below zero with snow. Jonesy will
provide an equipment list. 5. Use safety precautions in all activities, especially regarding the
use of his weapon.
6. Refrain from consuming any alcoholic beverage within five (5) hours prior
to hunting. This necessarily limits drinking to the evening hours after the day
of hunting is over. Drinking and smoking are prohibited in the cook tent.
7. Inform JHO of any known physical disability or conditions that we
should be aware of (diabetes, epilepsy, high blood pressure, buck fever,
allergies, etc.). Hunter should get a physical examination before exerting
himself in the high altitude of Wyoming.
8. Hunter agrees not to tell other hunters, family, or friends
where we hunt or to name any specific drainages or mountains that we hunt.
Hunter also agrees not to return to our area unless using our services.
We hunt a permitted area on public land. We are much more successful than the general public who hunts
the area and it is because of our methods and our "honey-holes".
Telling others how to hunt our area or returning on your own to hunt places
we showed you is unethical and unsportsmanlike.
Hunter agrees to absolve Jackson Hole Outfitters from any liability
or disability resulting from the physical condition of the Hunter ________________________

A liability release must be signed before participating in the hunt (insurance
requirement). Year 2008 PRICE LIST
Hunt prices listed below include all costs except for:
1. A $500 kill fee if a hunter shoots a bull elk or a buck deer of any size. TROPHY/KILL
FEE EXPLANATION: If we do our job and put the hunter in range of an animal, and
he kills him, he is required to pay a kill fee, regardless of the size of
the animal. We believe for a buck or bull to become a real trophy he has
to get old. This trophy fee encourages you to be selective in killing only
mature animals, allowing the young ones to grow up. It also assures you
that we are working as hard as we can to find the bull or buck you want
so that we can earn that kill fee. The choice to pull the trigger is yours.
NOTE: This kill fee is actually part of the cost of the hunt. I
could charge $4,000 for deer and then refund $500 if you are unsuccessful, but
it sounds cheaper listing it this way. 2. Cost of hunt permits. Apply for Area GEN (General Statewide) elk
permit. We hunt Elk Area 89, but it is a General elk tag/license. We
strongly recommend you apply for the Special Elk License. Apply for Region G deer permit.
We hunt deer area 144. Chance of drawing a permit varies
each year. Contact JHO for application dates.
3. Any tips you may want to give your guide and staff. 4. $50 extra per person for airport
pickup and delivery.
5. Meat
processing and taxidermy work.
HUNTS OFFERED:
We are southwest of JACKSON HOLE, WYOMING on the Greys River. We either ride out of camp or load our horses into a trailer and take a short drive to one of 17 different trail heads, depending on where the guide plans to hunt that day, and we try to have only 6 to 8 hunters in camp at a time to maintain a quality hunt. Typically we will leave camp before daylight and return after dark, hunting hard all day with a combination of glassing, sneaking ridges or timber, riding horses through prime country, or making drives. We usually hunt down the mountain in the evening to cover more territory at prime time. We hunt resident animals, so we don’t have to depend on weather or migrations for an excellent hunt. Usually 90% of our hunters see a legal buck or bull, 40% of them see a trophy rack. Ask for a complete REFERENCE LIST/SUCCESS REPORT of all hunters who hunted with us last year. Remember hunting success depends more on the weather, the physical condition of the hunter and the ability to shoot straight so come prepared. If you arrive early so that you can start rested from your trip here, we recommend that you stay at the Anvil Motel in Jackson. Mention to Al or Carol Parker that you are one of our hunters for a special rate. (307)-733-3668 or www.anvilmotel.com.
Camp is at 7000ft elevation and we ride up to 9000ft where the big deer live. The deer season runs from September 15th to October 5th. The elk are not usually as high and the season opens after deer so the guides have had plenty of time to scout for your Bull Elk. The Elk season is October 15th to October 31st. Archery Elk season is September 1st to September 30th. The moose are much lower and sometimes seen from the Grey’s River road and because this season runs from September 15th to October 31st we can also do a combo hunt of deer/moose or elk/moose.

HUNT DEPOSITS: To confirm a Mule deer or Elk booking a 50% deposit is required for those hunters with 2 Wyoming preference points or more. Hunters with less than 2 Wyoming preference points require a $500.00 deposit with a full 50% due once drawn. For Moose a $500.00 deposit is required with a full 50% due once drawn. If you are unsuccessful in the drawing on a single animal hunt your deposit will be returned. If you booked a combination hunt and are unsuccessful in drawing a license for one animal but draw the other license, only the animal you fail to draw a license is the deposit returned, unless other arrangements are made when the hunt is booked. Should you draw only one license the hunt can be rescheduled to hunt the animal for which a license was obtained. Only upon failure to draw a license is a deposit returned, because of the expense of a lost booking. License applications withdrawn by the client WILL NOT COUNT AS A FAILURE TO DRAW, therefore a deposit refund will not be granted. Deposits will be returned within 60 days of notification by the Wyoming Game and Fish that you were unsuccessful in obtaining a license. Personal checks will be accepted for all payments. Final payments must be made 30 days in advance of the hunt starting date. No rate reductions or extra days will be given if hunters leave before the conclusion of the hunt or fail to arrive on prearranged dates. VISA, MASTER CARD, DISCOVER and AMERICAN EXPRESS accepted.
The
length of your hunt can be extended (if space available) for $700 per day. In
examining our records over the past several years we have proven that no one
single week is better than another. We kill good bucks and bulls early, we kill
them late, and we kill trophies every week in between. Hunter success depends
more on weather, your physical condition, and straight shooting. Look at our
complete Success Report/Reference list published each year to prove it to yourself. When
you have filled your tag you may continue to enjoy our hospitality until your
scheduled departure date. You may accompany other hunters of your party in
helping get their game. You may fish, ride our horses, help the guides scout for
other game, or just hang around camp. Your total enjoyment of your Wyoming big
game hunt is our main concern.
